Can’t you see
I just want to be free

To soar above the clouds on angel wings

I just want my decisions to be for me

 

Some things are just better left unspoken

They tend to crash into my personal border

I just want to know that I am loved

Not be forced to listen to some overheard recorder

Your words are like a track on repeat
The more it invades my mind, the more it starts to seep
Further and further it causes more harm than grasp
A simple minute is all that I would ask

Listen to me, hear what I say

I’ll respect you more for what you convey
With a better understanding of what each other feels

The pain and ache will start to conceal

Is it really so hard to let me go?

I know you want to set an example for me
I realize you have a lot you must know

But someday you have to set me free

And when the time comes at last
We’ll always look upon our past

To guide us into the future and see

What really had shaped the person that is me
