Foundation of Love

It begins like an ordinary friendship
But blossoms into a feeling
The feeling gains momentum
And the momentum leads to happiness

Intertwined into the others arms
But from a distance of miles
Lips touching and making sweet promises
But from an expanse of time

The foundation that becomes laid
The bonds premised day by day
The magic spreading it’s own ways
Until it hits a climax that makes all go astray

A new love, a new foundation
New warmth, new truths bounded
And the feelings from before with the other
The tower all comes crashing down in a heap of smoke

How does one feel when their love has been taken from them?
How does one express the pain and sorrow he feels?
How does one do his best to comprehend this surge of emotion?
How does one…continue to live?

It becomes a sense of madness, a sense of fury
But yet, a piece still remains
“I’ll always be there, through the worst of the times, through the best of times”
That one promise, keeps the blood flowing
That one promise, keeps the heart beating
That one promise, allows a new sun to rise

You can’t extinguish the past and it’s tribulations
All you can do is live each day anew and push forward
And who knows, maybe the chance to be taken back will come
And by then, you’ll be waiting
Waiting for the feelings to return
And the building to be constructed again
With more strength and pride than ever before
