I couldn't find the things about my life worth living for
My heart was locked tight like within a sealed door
But then you came along, you had the key
The key to open up the door and within it you found me

Would you look into my eyes and see
Something special inside of me
Or would you turn away and laugh
And make that dreaded day my last

The longer we talked, the more I felt a light
Shining inside your heart, oh so very bright
I found something of myself inside your smile
And it didn't take all that long of a while

I figured out similarities within the both of us
How we'd been hurt before and such and such
That very moment, I felt a change
Although it's very difficult to explain

Your words made me soar into flight
With them, I often dreamt at night
Your goofy personality, it was so cute
All for hours on end, we couldn't stay mute

The more you made me open up my heart
The more I started to see things about me that were not dark
I feel like you are a part of me that I've been searching for
The part of me that stepped through that door

Alone I've been for so very long
But now those feelings make up a song
A song that contains the feelings of us
A song that can be played to give us trust

You made me see things I didn't feel I see before
You were the one who made me believe them even more
Whatever happens because of this, let them be
Because you were the first one to believe in me
